how to get out of an abusive relationship: 5 good steps to take

How to get out of an abusive relationship.

Relationships are supposed to be a thing of Joy for all parties involved (the couple, the extended family and friends).

However, there are times that the relationship becomes toxic and abusive and the safety of one or both of the partners could be a source of worry for all concerned.

Abusive relationship

In abusive relationships, there is usually a narcissist who tries to manipulate or abuse the less dominating partner to get what she wants.

Sometimes the abused partner might not even be aware that she's going through physical and emotional abuse because she might be staying to avoid exposing deep issues in the relationship or even preserving because of the children.

The other instances of implicit abuse where the abused partner is given gifts to cover up for the abuse are he or she is using in the hands of the other partner.

5 Tips to Overcoming Relationship Abuse

Here are some actionable steps to take in an abusive relationship.

  1. First, understand and familiarise yourself with what makes an emotional abuse. Knowledge is power and your ability to recognise that you are being abused is a key step for getting yourself out of a messy relationship.
  2. Care should be taken because it is usually more dangerous to opt-out of an abusive relationship than to stay in it. hence the abused person should be well protected to avoid loss of life or escalation of the problem.
  3. Be aware that Abuse Is a Cycle: one should understand that abuse is a cycle that has no end. So the abuser can keep abusing the victim while providing gifts and loving words to cushion the effect of his actions.
  4. The abused should reach out to family and friends to let them know what is happening. sometimes members of the police force and civil society should be could be alerted to forestall a probable attack.
  5. Seek the Guidance of a Professional therapist or social workers. the therapist and social worker can give advice and inform the abused partner of where to go to get help as well as visiting the Abuser to know what is happening.

7 Dating Tips for Finding Mr and Mrs Right

Dating Tips for Finding the Right Person.

Relationships could be a difficult nut to crack for some people. Sometimes, it happens miraculously for some people who are not even looking for love in the first place. For others, love is like a treasure hunt: you keep hoping and wishing for the best.

Dating Tips for Finding Mr and Mrs Right

If you are in the category of those who feel they are cursed to forever be alone, well this post is for you.

What are some Dating Tips for Finding Mr and Mrs Right?

1. Be the Right Person

This is the starting point and agrees with the golden rule of DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WANT THEM TO DO TO YOU. It isn't wise to be looking for the right person when you are the wrong one who will destroy the Relationship finally.

2. Move out of your comfort zone

Ok, you have solved the matter of being the right single who is ready to mingle, what else? Well, you may have to move out of your comfort zone to find your love. This includes changing neighbourhoods, religious affinity, or even travelling across oceans to find your missing rib.

3. Make the bold move

Take the bold step when you have identified the person. Some persons will crush on a person and spend eternity looking and wishing that the other person makes the first move. You may wait forever. Just make the move boldly.

4. Have open-minded, honest communication

Be open to your significant other. Yes, there is nothing wrong with keeping some secrets, but being overly sensitive or secretive will hurt your Relationship more in the long run. When you have the opportunity to talk about something with the person you are dating, be honest.

5. There is power in Compromise

Sometimes you may need to argue to share your opinion on a particular decision. Just try and do it peacefully and remember that you may have to lose a battle to win some wars. Don't attempt to be right all the time. Have it in mind that the end goal should be the upliftment of the stakeholders in the Relationship.

6. Be optimistic

Optimism is a fuel that could power your new relationship to great heights. In this dating tip, whether you are heading out for lunch or facing a rough patch in the friendship, be sure to have it in mind that things will get better in the end. A negative mind is like a bad tyre that ruins a good journey.

7. Maintain External Relationships and Interests

The fact that you are dating someone does not make the Relationship mutually exclusive to both of you. You have family, friends and work to cater for. Never let your date come between you and your external relationships and interests. Try and strike a balance.

Who is a Father? Reflections on Father's Day 2021

As We celebrate Father's Day 2021, the age-long question remains: Who is a Father?

Father's Day doesn't come often as we have for Women's Day. In fact, one will spend hours and days scouring the internet for a specific song in praise of fathers. You hardly ever hear anything in praise of the poor fathers who work their whole lives to put food on the table for the family.

Who is a Father?, Father's Day 2021 Is today Father's Day? Father's Day Wishes, Father's Day

To celebrate this year's Father's day, I will expound on the FATHERS acronym to explain who a father is.

F- Faithful: Faithfulness is a mark that is expected of every father and real man out there. Faithfulness means meeting up with your promises and commitments (as well as sticking by her side through thick and thin.

A- Always There: Closely associated with Faithfulness is the choice of always being there. I used the term CHOICE because it has to be done deliberately. Sadly, some father can be physically beside their women, but their heart is far away. Here is a call for all real fathers to be there always.

T- Trustworthy: Being able to be trusted is one other important trait of a real Father. Trust is expensive and has to b earned. Sadly, trust is one of the easiest things to lose in life. If you have a woman who trusts you, Dear Father bro, show some trust towards her, too.

H- Honoring: Honoring others and being honoured are important aspects of fatherhood. Just remember to have your personal honour intact as a Father-figure.

E- Ever-Loving: The ever-loving Father loves forever. He puts his heart into his family and friends and is always there when needed.

R- Righteous: Real Fathers are morally right or justifiable. We know them for having feelings of righteous indignation towards people and general phenomena. Such men are good, virtuous, upright, upstanding, decent, worthy and ethical.

S- Supportive: A supportive father is someone who provides emotional help and encouragement. Such a father is always encouraging his child.

To conclude this, remember that we didn't talk about age for being a father, neither did we mention those men who don't show concern for anyone.

Cheers to all responsible, emotional and biological fathers as the question still remains: Who is a Father?
